Initial interview: This interview typically happens over the phone. In order to determine your eligibility, you will be asked some questions about your age, gender, race/ethnicity, handedness, and medical history. We will also ask some general questions related to whether you can safely and comfortably have an MRI. 

Questions we ask include, but are not limited to:

Physical Qualifications (have none of the following):

Working in a metal shop-even in high school
Non-removable metal in or around the head
Piercings that cannot be removed anywhere on the body
Rods, plates, screws, left over from surgery
Permanent makeup around the eyes
No prison tats, or even tattoos that are older or have smeared.
Any major medical implants, aneurism clips, stints, pace makers
No IUD-only if it is copper
Dental implants (braces, dams, bridges, major implants).
Permanent retainer (okay on lower)
Breast implants
Pregnant/breast feeding
Some serious health conditions

Head Injury/Psychological:

Born 4 weeks prematurely
History of head injury (concussion and symptoms of concussion (lose consciousness, dizzy, feel funny)). Hospitalization for head injury is exclusionary. If you have had a history of these, we do have a many other studies you may participate in.
History of phycological or neurological disorder (seizures, epilepsy)
Hospitalization for psychological orders)
